Commercial Solar Inside Sales Representative

Commercial Rooftop Solar | Education-Driven | Values-Based

Buffalo Solar Solutions is seeking a Commercial Solar Inside Sales Representative to join our growing commercial team. This role is ideal for someone who is consultative, curious, disciplined, and team-oriented, and who wants to build a long-term career in clean energy — not chase quick commissions.

This is not a high-pressure sales role. We focus on educating business owners and executives, helping them understand the value of solar for their operations, including how projects impact cash flow and long-term financial performance, rather than selling on price.

What This Role Looks Like

  • Majority inside sales, with limited and purposeful site visits

  • A qualified pipeline is provided immediately — you are not starting from scratch

  • Engage directly with CFOs, CEOs, and business owners, discussing:

    • Business operations and energy use

    • Cash flow impacts and long-term value

    • Risk, incentives, and project structure

  • Work alongside a team of engineers, designers, and analysts who provide the technical and financial support needed to sell with confidence

  • Participate in site visits to:

    • Identify electrical infrastructure (service entrances, meters, transformers, etc.)

    • Take photos and notes to support engineering and financial modeling

  • Learn the technical fundamentals of commercial solar and energy systems over time — willingness to learn matters more than prior solar experience

Compensation & Growth Path

  • $49,000 base salary during ramp-up

  • Transition to commission-only compensation once $49,000 in commissions is earned

  • Structured training and mentorship provided

  • Long-term earning potential for those who commit to mastery and teamwork

  • Is willing to learn how to explain cash-flow models and financial outcomes to customers, with support from our internal team

  • Sells through education and trust, not pressure or gimmicks

  • Has a proven ability to work in a CRM and maintain accurate pipeline data

  • Is a team player who prioritizes company success over individual wins

  • Is detail-oriented, organized, and accountable

  • Is willing to learn technical concepts, including:

    • Electrical service and power sources

    • Transformers, meters, and load considerations

    • How system design impacts production and financial performance
