Dent Wizard – Job Description

Position Title: Automotive Photographer

Location: Schaumburg, IL

Compensation: $18 -$20/ hourly

As an Automotive Photographer at Dent Wizard, you will be responsible for capturing high-quality images and videos of vehicles for use in marketing materials, online listings, and advertising campaigns. This role requires technical photography skills, attention to detail, and a customer-focused mindset. You will be the visual storyteller for our inventory, helping customers see the value and condition of each vehicle.

Essential Job Functions

📸 Auto Photography (60%)

  • Photo Shoot Preparation

    • Coordinate with sales and marketing teams to schedule photo shoots for new inventory.
    • Inspect and stage vehicles to ensure cleanliness and readiness for photography.
  • Photography Execution

    • Use professional-grade cameras and lighting equipment to capture high-resolution images from multiple angles.

    • Ensure proper composition, lighting, and framing to highlight vehicle features.
    • Record short “walk-around” videos of vehicles.
  • Image Editing

    • Edit and retouch photos using software (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom) to enhance quality and meet branding standards.
    • Collaborate with the sales team to fulfill photo requests and meet deadlines.
  • Team Communication

    • Coordinate with team members to prioritize tasks and ensure timely delivery of visual content.

Quality Control & Service Excellence (40%)

  • Review images for accuracy and consistency.
  • Address any issues with photo quality promptly.
  • Maintain organized photo inventory with proper labeling and categorization.
  • Upload images to company systems for marketing and online listings.

Position Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Proven photography experience; automotive photography preferred
  • Strong understanding of composition, lighting, and editing techniques
  • Proficiency with digital cameras, lighting equipment, and editing software (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom)
  • Attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Familiarity with automotive terminology and vehicle models is a plus
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Frequent kneeling, bending, squatting, and lifting up to 45 lbs
  • Manual dexterity for repetitive tasks and use of hand tools
  • Ability to twist and move into awkward positions
  • Work in automotive repair shops or refurbishing facilities

The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and geographic location.

The starting compensation is expected to be:

$18 - $20 Hourly
