The Area Director is responsible for leading and driving performance across multiple retail locations within the Destination platform across the South Carolina and Florida markets. This role partners closely with Store Directors to deliver exceptional guest experiences, achieve financial targets, and build high-performing teams aligned with Event Network’s values and operating standards.
This leader will own the business across their region, ensuring consistent execution of key performance drivers including sales, payroll, merchandising, and talent development, while adapting to the unique demands of high-traffic, tourism-driven environments.
This is an onsite role, requiring regular presence within assigned markets, with up to 25% travel to support store visits, partner relationships, and regional operations.
Key Responsibilities
Business & Financial Performance
Drive revenue growth and profitability across all assigned locations
Analyze and act on key performance metrics including conversion, ADS, UPT, and payroll % (PR%)
Ensure stores are staffed and scheduled appropriately to meet business demands while maintaining payroll discipline
Identify opportunities and implement strategies to improve underperforming locations
Leadership & Talent Development
Lead, coach, and develop Store Directors to build strong bench strength and succession pipelines
Foster a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement
Support recruiting, onboarding, and retention efforts across the region
Conduct regular performance check-ins, coaching sessions, and development planning
Guest Experience & Sales Execution
Champion a guest-first culture, ensuring teams consistently deliver engaging, personalized experiences
Reinforce and coach to core selling behaviors and service standards
Drive adoption of key initiatives
Ensure consistent execution of promotional and sales-driving strategies
Operational Excellence
Ensure consistent execution of operational standards including visual merchandising, inventory management, and store presentation
Maintain compliance with company policies, procedures, and partner expectations
Oversee inventory processes, shrink control, and operational efficiency
Partner with cross-functional teams (Operations, Buying, HR, IT) to support store needs
Market & Partner Management
Build strong relationships with partner organizations across South Carolina and Florida
Adapt strategies based on market dynamics, seasonality, and tourism trends
Act as the primary escalation point for store-level challenges and partner concerns
Qualification
5+ years of multi-unit retail leadership experience (District/Area level preferred)
Proven ability to drive financial results across multiple locations
Strong leadership, coaching, and talent development capabilities
Experience operating in high-volume, seasonal, or tourism-driven environments preferred
Strong business acumen with the ability to analyze data and make real-time decisions
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
Ability to travel regularly within the region
